  • I finally have internet! It is a joyous day indeed!

Updates: 1) I did not get Inventory Supervisor. Guess third time is not a charm. 2) Online classes rock but I have to file some paperwork with the School of Music so I can be enrolled in Uband during my scheduled online Stats course. 3) My cat is annoying, but really cute. Go look at the front cover of the current issue of Cat Fancy magazine. It is identical to my cat. 4) Eclipse rules my soul. Stephenie Meyer is my favorite writer of all time. Her next book is The Host, due out in May and has nothing to do with the Twilight series. However, the next book in the series is called Breaking Dawn and is due out in August...of next year. *sigh*

    That's about all I got.

  • Update!

I have moved and I'm loving my new apartment. It's small, but it's cozy and I am maximizing space by being awesome at arranging furniture. I no longer work at McDonalds. I'm gonna miss some of my coworkers, but the job is evil and I'm glad I won't have to deal with unnecessarily rude customers whose only goal in life is to break my spirit. I actually still don't have internet, so if anyone needs to get a hold of me, I have a phone. Nifty, isn't it? I'm using Kim's apartment for if and when I absolutely must get on the internet. Like to accept my financial aid award. Woot for crazy MAP grant and loans. Work news: I am applying for Inventory Supervisor again, so wish me luck. My old Supe has told me that I am to get a Myspace so she can keep in touch with me when she leaves to start her teaching career. *shudder* Myspace.

Other news: The kitten my mom was getting me is a no-go. My aunts can't bear to part with it, which is ok. I moved Shadow into the new apartment, and she seems a lot less crazy than she used to be. But she is very needy. A good side note; since I've moved, I've been feeling incredibly relaxed and just happy overall. I think I'm finally getting to the point where life is good. Yes, I am still poor, and still in college, but I feel much better about everything. Ah, peace of mind is good.

I would like to say a last shout-out to some of my friends who seem to be slipping away- Stay in touch with me! Even if it's a random phone call every now and then, it's good to know what's going on in your lives and it's good to hear your voices. Well for now, I am out. Hopefully I shall have internet again soon, and then I can update more frequently.

  •  My vacation (from Borders) has begun.

So far today, I have slept. I'm now off to the store to buy some stuff to make cupcakes. Not your everyday cupcakes either. No, I'm going to be awesome and make Peanut Butter Cupcakes, Vanilla Chai Cupcakes, Devil's Food Cupcakes, and Pop Rock Cupcakes. I borrowed an interesting book from Borders to play with over vacation (details below) and I feel like experimenting. The countdown to moving day is ON and I have 6 days left. I figure I can do a whole lot of packing, which will include trying to throw out all my miscellaneous pack rat stuff, this week. I also wanna try to make a whole ton of cupcakes/muffins so that whoever helps me move will have a decent variety to chose from. In other words, if you help me move, you get cupcakes! Now that's motivation. =P

Side note: My momma got me a kitten! I should be getting her in a few weeks, cause my Aunt Jan is taking her to Chicago for spaying and shots, but Mom is going to pay the pet deposit for her to live in my apartment, under the stipulation that I pay her back within the next year. I'm psyched cause she's really soft and fluffy like my mom's cat, and she's a Calico! I heart Calicos. And Shadow will have a buddy to play with again. I'm hoping these two do better than Shadow and Pepper though. We shall see.

P.S. The next Borders IPT book is Life of Pi by Martel. We changed it to a new book every two weeks, due to issues with everyone getting Lovely Bones read. But this pick was brought to you by our awesome IPT member, Nadie!

  • Random Update:

On July 6th, I'm moving to Sycamore. I'm very excited, mainly because there won't be any drug dealers in my apartment complex. Just old people. Which isn't so bad. And I think my kitty is gonna like it. Also, July 30th is my last day at Mcdonald's and words cannot describe how ecstatic I am about that. I am kinda sad that I won't be working with some of the people any more, because most of my coworkers are awesome, but I'm happy I won't have to deal with people who get ridiculously angry over the stupidest things. Ahh...good times.

Side note: This school year is gonna be hard, mostly financially. I'm not gonna get grants because Robby dropped out of school, and it's looking like getting loans is gonna be an issue as well. Academic wise, I really need to crack down. I got lazy last semester, but that needs to change. My grand goal is to get out of here in 2 years, max. I'm savoring the fact that next year, I will officially be independent and financial aid will then be my best friend.

Work side note: I started an Inventory Member book club, so our 5 person inventory team at Borders is gonna be reading a new book each week. I'm hoping it'll go well. First book was my choice, Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. If you haven't read it, I demand you do. Or else....stuff will happen.

Lastly, Happy 60th Birthday to Grandma Schwarz!! ( and yes, she is crazy young)

  •  I figured out that late 2008-May 2009 are going to be insanely hectic and insanely awesome. Two of my best friends are getting married within three weeks of each other, which is fantastic and words cannot describe how happy I am for them. The part that entertains me most is that both of them asked me to be their maid of honor. So I get to plan two sets of bridal showers and bachelorette parties around the same time. I also get to put my psychology training to use because I'll have to keep two bride-to-be's sane. I'm so excited, and yet so nervous. I hope I don't get color schemes mixed up. =P
